Broker Ratings — What We Measure, and What We Have Not Measured Yet

Choosing a broker usually means hours of cross-checking licences, spread tables and withdrawal policies written to be skimmed rather than understood. A ratings page is supposed to do that work once so you do not have to do it six times.

This page publishes real records only: hub-published broker reviews with their verification trail, and desk-checked profiles whose facts were traced to official sources. No editorial score exists yet, so nothing here is ranked — the method a ranking will be built from is published below.

Our broker ranking

Ordered by the number of desk-verified licences — a count of checks, not a quality score.

Every figure below comes from traderpublic's published desk-checked records. Data is checked on the date shown, not in real time.

How a traderpublic rating will be built

Six inputs, weighted — none of them applied to a real firm yet

01

Regulation and safety

Each supervising authority will be weighted by the strength of its client-money rules, and the licence checked against the regulator's own register — including whether it covers retail clients where we publish.

02

Total cost of trading

Spreads will be sampled four times a day across a month, then combined with commissions, swaps and non-trading fees into one cost figure per standard lot.

03

Platforms and tools

Each platform will be opened and traded on before it is scored, on charting depth, order types, automation support, uptime, and how much of it costs extra.

04

Deposits and withdrawals

Withdrawal requests will be timed end to end, every fee recorded, and the stated processing window compared with what actually happened.

05

Trader feedback

Feedback will count only once the account behind it is confirmed, and will be grouped by theme so one loud complaint cannot move a score by itself.

06

Support and education

Support queues will be tested anonymously at three times of day, and teaching material graded on whether it is correct, not on how much of it there is.

No broker has been through this process. It is published as a commitment about what a score here would have to mean, not as a description of work already done.

Frequently asked questions

Starting with the one this page invites

Why is there no editorial ranking on a page called Broker Ratings?

Because a ranking needs scored records, and no broker has been through our rating process yet. The profiles listed here are desk-checked facts and hub-published records — real, but unscored — so nothing is ordered until a score exists to order by.

Are the brokers shown on this page real companies?

Yes. Every profile here is either desk-checked — each claim traced to the broker's official site or a regulator's register on the date shown — or published from our research hub with its verification trail. The invented demo profiles that once illustrated this page have been retired.

Then how should I actually choose a broker?

Start where nobody can edit the answer: the register published by the regulator in your own country. Search the firm's legal name, confirm the licence is live and covers retail clients like you, and only then look at costs. A comparison table — including one that looks like ours — is a shortcut to reading, never a substitute for it.

Is a lower spread always the better deal?

Not on its own. A raw-spread account with a per-lot commission can cost more than a wider all-in spread if you trade small volume. Compare the total cost of a round turn at the position size you actually use, rather than the headline number.

Does a higher maximum leverage mean a better broker?

No. Leverage multiplies a loss exactly as fast as a gain, and a cap is a protection rather than a missing feature. Any rating that treats a bigger number as a better one is measuring the wrong thing.

Before you open any account

Check the licence at the source

Every regulator publishes a searchable register. Find the firm's legal name in it, confirm the licence is live, and read what it actually permits.

Editorial note. traderpublic publishes desk-checked facts and hub-verified records, not recommendations. Nothing here is investment advice — always confirm a licence against the regulator's own register before opening an account.
