Brokers with PAMM and managed accounts

A PAMM account hands trading discretion to someone else, so the questions that matter are what the manager's cut is, what happens to your share of a loss, and whether the arrangement sits under the same compensation scheme as a direct account.

The investor-protection column is real: it is the statutory scheme attached to the licences our desk verified on each regulator's own register. The account-type, manager-fee and deposit values are written in per broker and labelled wherever they appear — placeholders for fields our research hub does not publish yet, not checked facts about those firms.

Trading CFDs carries a high risk of losing money. Nothing on this page is advice to open an account with any firm.

Broker records we publish

Ordered by the traderpublic desk score on each record. Records our desk has not scored are not ranked here.

Use it to compare at a glance, then read the licence trail under each broker below — that is the part our desk checked against the regulator's register.

Frequently asked questions

Does investor compensation cover a PAMM allocation?

Cover attaches to the licensed entity holding your money, and the figure in that column is the statutory scheme for the regulators we verified. Whether a specific managed arrangement qualifies depends on how the money is held — ask the broker in writing, and do not rely on this page for it.

Are the manager fees on this page real?

No, and they are labelled. Our hub publishes no managed-account fee field yet; the values shown are written in to demonstrate the shape of a column that needs a fee basis and a high-water mark to mean anything.

How a managed or PAMM account is structured

In a PAMM arrangement you deposit into an account traded by someone else, usually alongside other investors, and gains and losses are allocated in proportion to each participant's share. The manager is paid a performance fee, and sometimes a management fee as well.

The structural point that gets lost in the marketing: you are handing trading discretion to a person whose track record you cannot audit, inside a firm whose accounting for the pool you also cannot audit. Whatever the published figures show, that is the risk you are accepting.

Allocation
How profit and loss are divided between participants, normally by share of the pool at the time of each trade.
Performance fee
The manager's cut of profits, often taken at a high-water mark so it is only charged on new gains.
Drawdown
The largest peak-to-trough fall in the account's value. A far more informative number than a headline return, and the one most often omitted.
Lock-up
Any period during which you cannot withdraw. Ask for it in writing, including what happens if you ask to exit mid-period.

Questions worth answering in writing before depositing into any managed arrangement.

  1. Which licensed entity holds the money, and does its regulator permit it to manage client funds on a discretionary basis?
  2. Is the published track record audited, and by whom? An equity curve on a dashboard is not an audit.
  3. What is the largest historical drawdown, and over what period was the record compiled?
  4. Exactly how and when can you withdraw, and what does it cost?
  5. How is the manager paid, and does the fee structure reward taking more risk with your capital?

A past return is a description of a period that has ended. Nothing about it obliges the future to resemble it, and a manager's incentive to take risk is not symmetrical with yours: they share the gain and you carry the loss.

How this ranking is put together

The order on this page is the research desk's published score for the whole broker, tie-broken by the number of licences we verified against a regulator's own register. It is not a score for this category, because we have not measured this category.

  • Every licence is read on the regulator's own register, and the date we read it is printed beside it
  • A product term is only marked available or not offered when the desk checked it and cited a source
  • A term nobody has checked stays labelled as unchecked rather than being dropped from the page
  • Written-in values exist only where the research hub publishes no field, and each one is labelled where it appears

What this page established, and what it did not

This page ranked brokers on the score the research desk publishes for the whole firm, and showed the licence trail behind each one. That much is checked: every licence number here was read on the regulator's own register, on the date printed beside it.

It did not establish who is best for PAMM and managed accounts. No field on this site measures that yet, so the page marks the gap instead of filling it, and labels every value that was written in rather than checked. Treat the order as a starting point for your own checks, not as a recommendation.

Each one states its own criterion and its own gaps.

Who did the work on this page

This page is compiled by the traderpublic research desk from the broker records published on this site. The desk reads regulator registers and brokers' own terms pages, and records the date of every reading.

On this page the desk verified the licence trail of every broker listed, and published a score only where it had one to publish.

We publish no individual byline for a compiled category page. The work is the desk's, and naming a single author would suggest a judgement one person made.
