traderpublic Ratings · PayPal brokers
Brokers that accept PayPal
A payment method decides how fast money moves and who absorbs the conversion cost, and the trap is asymmetry: a broker may take a PayPal deposit but return your money only to a bank account, which is a different arrangement from the one the badge implies.
The investor-protection column is real: it is the statutory scheme attached to the licences our desk verified on each regulator's own register. The payment-method, fee and deposit values are written in per broker and labelled wherever they appear — placeholders for fields our research hub does not publish yet, not checked facts about those firms.
Broker records we publish
Ordered by the traderpublic desk score on each record. Records our desk has not scored are not ranked here.
Use it to compare at a glance, then read the licence trail under each broker below — that is the part our desk checked against the regulator's register.

What decides a payment route — and what we have not measured
The compensation cover and licence rows are real. The payment rows are written-in examples of the columns we will print once the hub sends the fields.

Licences we checked ourselves
This is the part of the page that rests on evidence: each licence number was read from the regulator's own public register on the date shown.
Frequently asked questions
Can I withdraw to PayPal if I deposited with it?
Often but not always, and this page cannot tell you which: our hub publishes no per-method withdrawal field yet, so the payment values here are written in and labelled. Most regulated brokers return funds to the source of the deposit, which is an anti-money-laundering requirement rather than a courtesy.
Who pays the currency conversion?
Usually you, through the payment provider's conversion spread rather than a broker fee — which is why a "no fees" claim can still cost you on the way in. We publish no conversion figure yet and the row says so.
Funding by PayPal: what is convenient, and what is not
PayPal moves money between an account you already hold and the broker, without handing card details to the broker directly. Deposits are usually near-instant. That is the whole of the convenience, and it is a real one.
The part that surprises people is the asymmetry. A deposit may arrive in seconds while a withdrawal takes days, because anti-money-laundering rules generally require funds to be returned to their source. A card deposit goes back to that card; a PayPal deposit goes back to PayPal. You cannot fund one way and cash out another, and that is not the broker being obstructive.
- Source-of-funds return
- Money is sent back the way it came. Plan the exit route at the moment you deposit, not when you want the money.
- Currency conversion
- If your PayPal balance and your trading account are in different currencies, a conversion spread applies at both ends and is separate from anything the broker charges.
- Availability
- Support varies by broker entity and by country, and PayPal maintains its own list of where it operates. Both change without notice, so check on the day rather than trusting a comparison page.
- Verification
- Both the broker and PayPal run their own identity checks. Passing one does not satisfy the other, and a mismatch in name or address between them is a common cause of a held withdrawal.
The payment method has nothing to do with whether your money is safe. Safety comes from which entity holds the funds, whether client money is held separately from the firm's own, and which compensation scheme applies if the firm fails. A familiar payment button on the deposit page is not evidence about any of those.
How this ranking is put together
The order on this page is the research desk's published score for the whole broker, tie-broken by the number of licences we verified against a regulator's own register. It is not a score for this category, because we have not measured this category.
- Every licence is read on the regulator's own register, and the date we read it is printed beside it
- A product term is only marked available or not offered when the desk checked it and cited a source
- A term nobody has checked stays labelled as unchecked rather than being dropped from the page
- Written-in values exist only where the research hub publishes no field, and each one is labelled where it appears

What this page established, and what it did not
This page ranked brokers on the score the research desk publishes for the whole firm, and showed the licence trail behind each one. That much is checked: every licence number here was read on the regulator's own register, on the date printed beside it.
It did not establish who is best for PayPal deposits. No field on this site measures that yet, so the page marks the gap instead of filling it, and labels every value that was written in rather than checked. Treat the order as a starting point for your own checks, not as a recommendation.

Each one states its own criterion and its own gaps.
Who did the work on this page
This page is compiled by the traderpublic research desk from the broker records published on this site. The desk reads regulator registers and brokers' own terms pages, and records the date of every reading.
On this page the desk verified the licence trail of every broker listed, and published a score only where it had one to publish.
We publish no individual byline for a compiled category page. The work is the desk's, and naming a single author would suggest a judgement one person made.
